So basically, this contest only appeals to those moms with the perfect pregnancy and/or post-baby bodies. New moms with the “baby pooch” need not apply. Only private-sector jobs count. As you point out, reductions in state spending also mean elimination of private-sector jobs. Maybe ANY jobs funded by government money don't count, if they're providing services for the poor, the disabled, and the elderly. Jobs financed by his personal state-funded slush funds DO count.

As for hardware Im loving the sound of my Apogee Ensemble. Its a totally straight forward piece of gear. I have a rack of other outboard gear as well, but not worth getting into that. As for experience that is what freelance jobs are based on. Getting more work / working on bigger projects relies on experience. There are different types of audio engineers however being technical in nature is going to help.

Be there for your wife and hold her as much as possible. Tell her it will be okay and that you love her. Unplug your internet for awhile too so you can eliminate the temptation to look up articles about miscarriages/pregnancy, even logging onto Facebook could be painful since so many people post pictures/updates of their kids. I’m assuming you may have told some friends and family members about the pregnancy and now have to tell them about the miscarriage. I would avoid the ones, for awhile, that can’t stop themselves from saying more than “I’m sorry.” For me, being told “This is part of god’s plan”, “these things happen for a reason”, or “so and so had 3 miscarriages before having their boy/girl” are not comforting. I hope all the best for you and your wife.

I also got “swabbed” on my way from Philadelphia to St. Thomas. I am 100% Filipino (I guess that matters in this context) in a line of white people on their way to visit the islands as well. Since I was visiting my boyfriend for a week, I only had one duffel bag with me to carry on. After they swabbed me, they took me to a separate line so I could watch them unpack my little duffel bag and get questioned on where I was going, who I was seeing, where I was staying, why I only had one bag. It was all very annoying, especially when they stuffed all of the clothes that I had folded nicely that morning back into my bag, handed it to me without even closing the zipper. Thanks.

I work at a big tech MNC right now. We have apps that still require IE6. These are global apps. This company is also lauded for some amazing tech. Sometimes it’s just difficult to allocate the necessary resources to update an app, and sometimes it’s not worth it. In other cases, all the people who made the app just moved on and there’s insufficient documentation to know how the app works. The code analysis process alone would be atrocious, and companies prefer to put pressure on revenue-generating initiatives, not maintenance initiatives, because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And this is why all our computers still have IE6 installed…. Fortunately, I’ve also got Chrome and Firefox on here because I have admin rights.
