I have a BA and a Master’s and not ONCE has anyone said “Awesome! come work for us, you must be smart.” They want to see a list of how long I’ve worked, for whom, what skills I have, etc. and then they STILL tell me I was not the most qualified candidate (WHO THE HECK IS!?) and hire someone else. It’s a Catch 22: you can’t get hired without experience, but you can’t get experience without a job. Solution: work for your family’s business while you’re still in school!
