For right now, I am sure that I want to go to art school for graphic design. What happens if during my years in art school, i decide i don’t want to do that career?

I’m changing from a 2-year to a 4 year. Was origionally into the medical … now into data security and languages.
you can test what you like at one school and if your feeling it, stay.
… if not, try something else. Its about finding your passion.
As long as you have financial aid and are willing to stick with school without quitting, you can go where you want without repaying loans until you are holding your degree.
best advice: hammer out the core credits like math, english, health, sciences……… all until you figure it out. Ohh and some colleges and career colleges offer career esploration class’ that you can take. they test you( ablilities, likes/dislikes, aspirations, knoledges) and help paint a picture of what you might want to consider.
Are you in the US? If so, then don’t go to a pure art school unless you are 100% sure you want to go into that field. Instead, go to a broad university which has a great art program in it. In this way, while you study graphic design, you can also take all the science and etc. classes required as pre-requisites for vet school, and you could still apply to vet school if you wanted to.
If you go to a pure art school, the science and math classes you need as vet school pre-reqs won’t be available to you. But if you go to a good uni with a strong art program in it, they will.
Examples of good unis with great graphic design majors: Virginia Commonwealth, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, North Carolina State U, U Illinois Urbana. All are highly respected in graphic design, and offer the math and science courses you’d need.

You can always change your mind. Given these are very divergent paths, though, it will involve going back to square one.
Also realize that a veterinary career isn’t daycare for dogs or something – it’s a rather intensive and very science based program. Some people confuse their love for animals with an ability to take care of them as a medical professional. Obviously good vets have to have a love for animals, but they have to be good doctors first and foremost. If you’re thinking about vet school as a way to express love for animals but have little to no aptitude in science, there are far more compatible ways you can work with animals.

I took the class
It depends. If you’re young, try as many different career motives as you can before settling. There’s really no rush, but the sooner you decide the longer you will stay in the industry you love. If you want to go with Graphics Design, what type of design work? motion? 2d? 3d? web?..etc. Lots of venues to choose from. Maybe you can incorporate both studies into one business. You can get into veterinary services from there design their (or your) advertisement. Either way, have fun!
